Call for Artists: JD Malat Gallery Dubai Launches ‘Made in the UAE’ Initiative
JD Malat Gallery Dubai has announced a new initiative called ‘Made in the UAE’ to find and support emerging contemporary artists in the country. The gallery is inviting artists who work in various mediums, including painting, sculpture, photography, installation, or video, to submit their work for a chance to be featured in a group exhibition this December.
A Commitment to Local Talent and Diverse Voices
According to Jean-David Malat, the gallery’s founder, the initiative is a way to invest in the local creative ecosystem and provide a platform for artists who may not have had access to international exposure. The program will be judged by a selection committee of regional curators and international art professionals, who are looking for artists with a strong and unique visual style. This project is a follow-up to the gallery’s recent launch in Dubai.
Current Exhibition and Submission Details
The ‘Made in the UAE’ open call is a new opportunity, but the gallery is also currently showcasing its exhibition “Serenity – A Summer of Stillness,” which runs until August 30. This group show features works from 11 internationally recognized artists. Submissions for the ‘Made in the UAE’ open call are now open and will close on October 15, 2025.
